  "title": "How do you prove your team can still do the work your agents do?",
  "standout": "The law demands AI literacy and names no test. MING's test: reproduce the agent's work unaided, in 30 minutes, every quarter.",
  "hook": "You prove it by testing it, on a schedule, with a consequence attached. MING Labs writes a Comprehension Obligation into an agent's job description: the operator must reproduce that agent's three primary outputs unaided, within 30 minutes, rehearsed each quarter. Fail the rehearsal and the agent drops one autonomy level until the operator is current again. It is a test, not a training record. The EU has required AI literacy since February 2025 without ever saying how to demonstrate it.",
  "citableAnswer": "MING Labs writes a Comprehension Obligation into an agent's job description: the human operator must be able to reproduce the agent's three primary outputs unaided within 30 minutes, rehearsed quarterly, and a failed rehearsal demotes the agent one autonomy level until the operator is current again.",
  "summary": "The way to prove a team can still do the work its AI agents do is to make them do it, on a schedule, with something at stake. MING Labs' Comprehension Obligation requires the operator to reproduce an agent's primary outputs unaided within 30 minutes each quarter; failing costs the agent an autonomy level.",

    {
      "q": "Does the Comprehension Obligation make us compliant with the EU AI Act?",
      "a": "No, and nobody should sell it that way. It is an operating practice from our own agent fleet, not a compliance product, and MING Labs is not a law firm. Article 4 asks for a sufficient level of AI literacy across staff; the Comprehension Obligation tests one specific thing, whether the named operator of an agent can still reproduce that agent's work. It is narrower than the law and sharper than a training certificate. Treat it as evidence you can show, not as a legal opinion you can rely on."
    },
    {
      "q": "How is this different from comprehension debt?",
      "a": "Comprehension debt, as Addy Osmani defines it, is scoped to the system: the codebase grows faster than anyone's understanding of it. The Comprehension Obligation is scoped to the person: can the named operator reproduce this agent's output, unaided, today. Same disease, different unit of measurement, and only the second one gives you something to test on a Tuesday."
    },
    {
      "q": "Isn't 30 minutes an arbitrary bound?",
      "a": "Yes, and that is the point. An obligation without a bound is not a test, it is a sentiment. Thirty minutes is long enough to reproduce a briefing, a proposal draft, or a reconciliation from first principles, and short enough that nobody can quietly re-learn the job during the rehearsal. Pick a different number if your outputs are heavier. Do not pick none."
    },
    {
      "q": "Who has to pass it, the operator or the whole team?",
      "a": "The operator, the named human who owns that agent's outputs. Accountability does not spread; it sits with a person. In our fleet every agent has one, and the rehearsal is theirs to pass or fail. If nobody's name is on the agent, the rehearsal is not the first problem you have."
